Content designer, Workato

About Workato:

Workato is the only integration and automation platform that is as simple as it is powerful — and because it’s built to power the largest enterprises, it is quite powerful.

Simultaneously, it’s a low-code/no-code platform. This empowers any user (dev/non-dev) to painlessly automate workflows across any apps and databases.

We’re proud to be named a leader by both Forrester and Gartner and trusted by 7,000+ of the world's top brands such as BoxGrabSlack, and more. But what is most exciting is that this is only the beginning.

Looking for:

Workato’s Product Design team is looking for a Content Designer - someone who can distill complex concepts into concise, humane, and easy to understand language. You must be willing to rethink enterprise software and believe that enterprise customers should experience the same usability and clarity we expect from consumer software.

What you’ll do:

  • Work in close collaboration with other designers, product managers and UI engineers to design products that have low friction to adoption and are delightful to use

  • Distill complex concepts into clear, actionable in-product copy

  • Write user interface text that facilitates navigation, on-boarding, notifications, error messages, warnings, instructions, help content, form field labels and hints, and other components of the end-to-end user experience

  • Help strategically define product and feature names

  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers. Influence and adapt to stakeholders and their feedback

  • Regularly audit content to identify strengths, weaknesses, gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities.

  • Help define tone-of-voice for our in-product copy, and ensure cohesive product narratives.

  • Help establish content guidelines and governance for both writers and non-writers

  • Proactively document all content design decisions

  • Establish metrics to measure content performance and quality

  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities

  • Work independently in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment

Your experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, UX, HCI, or equivalent practical experience

  • 5+ years of content strategy, UX writing, or content design experience

  • Experience owning and designing end-to-end product content experiences

  • Experience translating complex product and business concepts into clear, concise, empathetic and engaging copy

  • A portfolio of UX-focused writing samples and style guidelines that were actually shipped. It should highlight before and after states, and showcase value added to the product

  • Experience using data to measure impact and guide future strategies

  • Ability to embrace the highly technical nature of our products

  • Experience in influencing behavior and promoting change across cross-functional teams

  • Native English speaker, or someone who can demonstrate a native level of English

  • Bonus points for experience with product localization and content management system
